WHAT DOES MY PARENT/CARER NEED TO KNOW?

Initial Consult

When you first begin on your Active Eight journey, we will invite you and your child to a 30 minute play based consult to gain a better understanding of your child’s interests and goals, determine the most suitable program, discuss any additional supports your child may require and answer any questions.

When your child has been enrolled into a program you will receive an email confirming their enrolment for the 10 week term.

Program Length

The Inside out drama program will run for 45 minutes each week during the school calendar term (approx. 10 sessions). Parents and carers are welcome to observe the program from the waiting area and can join in the program to provide support to their child as needed.

Group Size

Active Eight limit the number of enrolments to 8 members per session to ensure each member can learn and progress at their own pace with individual tailored support as required.

Cost

Drama will be invoiced termly for 10 weeks via email. Please refer to the Active Eight Service and Participation agreement for more information about our cancelation policy.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING AN INSIDE OUT SESSION?

Program Structure

To apply an underlying context to all classes, each term at Inside Out focuses on a new story or theme. Additionally, each member is given an Inside Out scrapbook that they must try and remember to bring to each session. This is where we keep our stories, character descriptions, scripts and staging diagrams that we use throughout the year.

Each session follows a similar lesson plan that includes both movement and vocal warm-ups, drama games, character exploration and improvisational exercises. Be prepared to move like you’ve never moved before and use your voice in ways you never knew you could!
